From Idea to Set, a Cinema Journey
Kent Picture is an independent film production company based in Istanbul. It develops feature films, documentaries, and series with a disciplined approach: audiences defined from the start, budgets built right, and schedules that hold.

Producer. Active in the industry since 2019 as the founder and manager of a production company. He served as project designer, screenwriter, general coordinator, and executive producer on “Savunma Sanayiinin Yalnız Dehaları” — TRT's first docu-drama series, nine episodes — and as general coordinator and producer on seven theatrically released feature films.
He came to producing through training in acting, screenwriting, and directing, having seen every level of the field first-hand. His education in Economics (Istanbul University) and Law (Doğuş University) ensures that budgets, contracts, and rights stay in the founder's own hands. His journey was the subject of the TRT2 interview “My Cinema Journey”.
Cinema in Turkey is a strong sector, but not yet a full industry. Kent Picture was founded to work with industrial discipline: a production company with clear roles, transparent management, and a solid infrastructure.

How We Work
A film begins not with the script, but with the audience.
The approach below is the way of working our founder described in his TRT2 interview and the one we apply to every project; it is the same direction the mainstream industry works in worldwide.
The audience first.The year is planned: how many films, in which release windows? Then comes the audience analysis — what does today's viewer wonder about, which themes will draw them to the theatre? At this stage neither subject nor story is chosen; first, the world the film will live in is understood.
Then the story.The themes the analysis reveals are laid on the table; the thread that passes through their very centre is the story. This is the hardest part and takes months: it is not finished until everyone at the table says, “yes — this is our story.”
Script and direction.The writer we believe will tell this story best is invited; the project is presented, and one thing is asked: “Now tell the story back to me.” If the excitement and the interpretation match, writing begins. When the script is done, the writer presents it: which scenes carry the themes, where is the turning point, why? Then the director joins — sharing how they perceive this world, their language, their ideas for locations and cast.
Budget and set.The untouchable scenes are written down from the start; if the budget does not fit the script, the project is revised along a pre-agreed order of priorities. No set date is given before the numbers work on paper. On set, the director's word is final.
Three shoots, one film.A film is shot three times: while the script is written, on set, and in the edit. The producer's task is to let the film evolve through these stages without losing its purpose — in the edit we look with a commercial eye, the director with a dramaturgical one.
The real film begins afterwards.The right release date, the right marketing aimed at the audience known since day one, the right number of screens. The process that opened with analysis closes by meeting that same audience.
